About Us

Mom’s Are Genius Trust (MAGs)

is a social enterprise
project which provides a revolving fund for start-up capital to groups of rural
and urban women. It offers an intervention which allows women (with no
collateral), normally considered high risk by microfinance lenders to access
credit.

Why mom’s are genius? Women actively engage in practical work and the work that they do sustains their families. MAGs’ choice of social entrepreneurship ensures viability and continuity both for the beneficiaries and the organisation.

MAGs understand that women bear the brunt of social problems encountered in communities and as such believe that a social enterprise will address just those problems. The returns of this intervention will be measured in the positive returns gained by the society more than the profit and loss statement of the project at the end of the year.

Barbara Kamba-Nyathi

Barbs The Emotional Alchemist (Barbara Kamba-Nyathi) is a healer, speaker and coach with a passion for generational and inner child trauma healing. Barbs’ path to healing began not in triumph, but in the unraveling. She has known loss in its most intimate forms relationships that ended, identities that dissolved, health that faltered, and moments when life itself slipped through her fingers. Each of these experiences became awakenings with the lesson that pain is not punishment. It’s initiation. Through her work, she has curated a sanctuary for women to transcend trauma, and a bridge inviting men into emotional growth because in her words, “Empowered men empower the women in their lives.” Barbs’ work is anchored in one mission: to serve through healing.
